a bit of history: in 2019, Lucien Georgelin bought with Sébastien Larroque (Roucadil), orchards of more than 100 hectares based in Toutrès, Vergers of 47. Located just 15 km from our Virazeil workshops, these land is now used as a window and "laboratory". Old varieties of fruit are planted there, such as pink apple, vine peach, pig plum or Bordeaux fig. The idea is to take over old varieties that have an exceptional taste for making delicious compotes or jams.

After several research and the support of a technician specializing in fig, we were able to determine the best variety, according to the environmental criteria in our region, among 31 selected. Several hectares of red fig from Bordeaux therefore saw the day in our orchards of the 47. It is a rustic and vigorous variety which produces abundantly from August to September depending on the sunshine.
